Du 4 avril prochain au 21 juin, la Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain ouvrira ses portes à deux grands artistes, l'une peintre, l'autre photographe. Il s'agit de Beatriz Milhazes et de William Eggleston. Un rendez-vous à ne pas manquer, tant ces deux artistes sont représentatifs de la création contemporaraine.

 

 

  

En organisant une exposition consacrée à Beatriz Milhazes, l’une des plus grandes plasticiennes brésiliennes d’aujourd’hui, la Fondation Cartier pour l'Art Contemporain va offrir un panorama del'œuvre des dix dernières années de l'artist. L’exposition réunit une sélection de peintures de grand format ainsi qu’un remarquable collage créé spécialement pour l’événement.

The Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain is pleased to present an exhibition of the work of Beatriz Milhazes, one of the most celebrated Brazilian visual artists today. Offering an overview of her work of the past decade, the exhibition will include a selection of large-format acrylic paintings as well as a remarkable new collage that she has created specifically for the show.

Par ailleurs, en réponse à l’invitation de la Fondation, William Eggleston mène depuis trois ans un vaste travail photographique sur la ville de Paris. Faisant suite à la première rétrospective du photographe en 2001, Paris est sa seconde exposition personnelle à la Fondation Cartier. Cette exposition est également une occasion unique de découvrir, en regard des photographies, une récente série de peintures – une dimension de son œuvre jusque-là inconnue et dévoilée ici pour la première fois au public.

For the last three years, William Eggleston has photographed the city of Paris as part of a commission for the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain. After his very first retrospective in 2001, this exhibition marks his second solo show at the Fondation Cartier. The exhibition provides an exceptional occasion to bring together William Eggleston’s distinctive pictures and his recent paintings, an unknown aspect of his work that has never before been presented to the public.
